I strongly believe in rituals and the power of cleansing your space in order to achieve higher vibrations. I was raised Catholic after all. As a child, the smell of burning incense in church was always so calming and soothing for me. The same goes for burning sage, which is something Native American have been doing for centuries.
If you’re new to burning leaves for peace of mind, here are four benefits of burning sage.
Benefits of burning sage
Cleansing your space
Sage is typically used to cleanse a space of negative energy. I work from home, so it’s important for me to pass my lit bundle around my office to separate that energy from home life and relaxation.
If it’s been a particularly stressful day, I light sage and frame my body with the smoke. It is said it will help in removing emotional and mental blocks. I believe it. I feel a sense of calm and clarity almost immediately.
Sometimes saying something or writing it down isn’t enough. Lighting sage as you set your intentions for the day is a powerful way to release the energy into your space.
My throat and sacral chakras are forever blocked. Neck issues and sitting all day to work will do that to you. I stretch and do mild yoag everyday to open these areas up, but I also light sage and do a bit of visualization.
