The great thing about meditation is that you can do it anytime, anywhere and it’s free.
Meditation has many benefits. It helps to increase positive thoughts, improves concentration and aids in our overall well-being. There are tons of great apps to choose from if you prefer to have some guidance, but if you want to just go for it, here are some tips to get started.
- Sit comfortably on the floor or on a chair. Make sure you’re wearing cozy clothes with no restrictions. Rest your hands on your thighs, take a few full belly breaths in and out and close your eyes.
- Focus on your breath as you scan your body from head to top. With every breath, feel the energy moving down our body. Breath in and release the tension from your muscles. Slowly exhale out those feelings of discomfort throughout your body.
- As your body starts to relax, just focus on your breath. If your mind starts wander, let it go with each breath.

The more you do this, the more natural it will feel and the quicker you will begin to feel the benefits. If you’re new to meditation, start with just 10 minutes a day, a few times a week.
